What is chronic microvascular ischemic disease?

Parse the words: Chronic = long-standing. Microvascular = small blood vessel. Ischemic = insufficient blood flow. Technically such a condition can affect any organ in the body but this condition gets most attention due to neurologic involvement. Certain genetic & environmental factors contribute to this condition--that is, there is more than one cause.
