Depends on age: Every child grows at a different rate and should be followed by a pediatrician for proper evaluation. Infants born at full term are expected to grow: 1 - 1.5 inches per month for the first 3-4 months; 0.5 - 1 inches until 12 months. http://medicalcenter.osu.edu/patientcare/healthcare_services/pediatrics/growth_development/pages/index.aspx.

Varies among babies: An average newborn is 20 inches. Babies grow quickly the first 6 months, about an inch to one and one-eighth inches a month for average babies. An average 6 month-old baby is 26-27 inches.
