Many: An allergic reaction is due to an immunoglobulin called ige and involves histamine and other mediators or chemicals produced in the body. Acne is a an inflammatory process involving the sebaceous follicles and androgen, a hormone. Acne can also manifest in noninflammatory forms but does not involve the chemicals of an allergic reaction or ige which is the lynchpin of an allergic reaction.
