Back alignment: During pregnancy, a woman's spine begins to curve in a different way. Also the extra weight is distributed unevenly and tends to pull on the back muscles.

To sprains: Your hormonal status during pregnancy causes your ligaments to become more "stretchable". You are therefore more prone to sprains which are ligamentous injuries. Strains are muscular injuries... I am not aware of an increased risk for those during pregnancy.
