Walk backwards: Chondromalacia is a condition of irritation to the knee cap. The vastus medialis muscle and the pes ancerinus help stabilize the knee cap in the groove. Walking backwards uses these muscles in the last 10 degrees of extension. Knee -up excercises help and negative lifting help, but 1/4 mile backwards three times a week is the best way to start.
