Oral surgeon: See the oral surgeon. Many infections are so severe that drains must be placed to allow the infection to be released. This is not uncommon in facial swelling. Most often, though, it just takes time after the tooth is treated/extracted and the antibiotics complete their work. You might even need a second course of different antibiotics. Nothing to fool around with -- be seen right away.

See your dentist: The swelling is most likely due to an infection, and your dentist will examine you, take radiographs, and determine if that tooth is restorable or needs extraction. An antibiotic may be prescribed to reduce the swelling before treatment is rendered. Feel better soon.
