A member asked:

What are the implications of taking maxalt (rizatriptan) if you have raynaud's disease?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Theoretical risk: Maxalt (rizatriptan) is best contraindicated in patients who have a history of heart disease or stroke. Raynaud's is a problem of vascular instability, in peripheral blood vessels, and would be a safer category, but triptans do affect blood vessel caliber and even can raise blood pressure, so check with your doctor regarding your particular issues.
