Pressure sore: Yes. Any method to get the pressure off of the ulcer is useful. The larger the area that the pressure can be spread over the better so that she does not get another sore where you are putting the donut.

Makes it worse: You might think a doughnut cushion may get the pressure off but the circle around the wound has been shown to hamper the circulation to the area as well as "force" the injured area down into a hole which squeezes it and causes pressure.The real answer is to spread the pressure evenly over a larger area with a larger cushion to cover the entire or more, simply keep them off that area at all times.
