This needs to be done for 6 months to show a benefit of reduced scarring. If the scar is still noticeable, seek out a plastic surgeon who does scar revision best regards, nima shemirani.

Answer: Scarring can be minimized in a few ways. First, keep the wound clean and dry as it is initially healing, this will reduce the risk of infection which will hamper healing and worsen scars. Second, keep the scars out of the sun or use very heavy sun block for at least 6 months. Uv light will darken and make scars more visible. Finally, some vitamin E lotion once wounds are closed may help.
