Yes: About 1/2 to 1 % of women are color deficient in some way. This is inherited and due to the location of the color genes on the sex chromosomes, it is more common by far in men. Color deficits can be acquired as well due to major retinal disease (such as diabetes) or certain rare cortical strokes in the brain.
