A member asked:

Why is color blindness more frequent in boys than girls?

A doctor has provided 1 answer
Dr. Christopher Abel answered

Genes: The pigments responsible for sensing colors are encoded on the x chromosomes. Since females have 2 x chromosomes, they are twice as likely as males to have these pigments and not be color blind.
