Physician : All patients with a history of cancer need routine follow up to ensure recurrence has not developed. However, your sore throat could be as simple as strep throat. Tobacco puts you at higher risk for head and neck cancers (also many other cancers) so everybody should be encouraged to stop. Consult with your primary care doctor to start with a great history and physical.
