How common is a missed miscarriage in the first trimester? i am 8 weeks but have not seen my doc yet, so no confirmed heartbeat.

Common: Only about 80% of pregnancies advance to the second trimester and beyond. A first trimester loss is common; however, an ultrasound will confirm how far along into the pregnancy you really are.
