Stainless Steel.: All-clad is 18/10 stainless steel and non toxic. On the other hand teflon (polytetrafluoroethylene) (ptfe) breaks down and releases toxic products above about 500 degrees fahrenheit. This can cause a flu like syndrome in adults and can kill birds.

Yes, toxic: Yes, the pan is unsafe as the coating becomes toxic when overheated with no food in it. The fumes are toxic also but given the short time of exposure, you, your baby, and your husband should be fine. Throw out the pan.
