I don't find them any more toxic than everyday cooking smells. The human rase has survived millennia exposed to cooking fires of various types. Lungs have a self cleaning mechanism to remove some of the inhaled debris. Some fumes from a variety of man made or mined products are worrisome, but I know of no data to suggest these produce anything toxic from normal use.

Air fryers made before 2013 have Teflon coatings that are toxic. New fryers have stainless steel or ceramics compounds that are not toxic unless heated to very high temperatures.
