Do not break: The best dressing to a wound is your own skin. See your doctor if definitely puss may be infection. May require antibiotics. Puss can also be sterile tissue injury with body cleaning up debris.

Dr. Smith: Hit the nail on the head. The only thing i'd want to add is to consider how this happened in the first place... If there is a pair of shoes you can associate with when this started, i would avoid those shoes or at least see if you can make some modifications so this won't happen again. Also... Instead of a plain old blister, why did it fill with pus? You might want to discuss this with a dpm.

See a physician : I recommend you see a physician for evaluation and treatment. You may need a debridement or aspiration with antibiotics.

Pus in my opinoin : Does in fact need to be drained. I do agree with prior answer of maintaining natural skin as biological covering. So, my recommendation would be with a sterile needle to pop the blister and allow the pus to be expressed thru that hole, you can soak and make sure it all comes out then apply an antibiotic and bandaid as a covering and to protect the overlying skin from further friction.
