Consider this: Rozerem (ramelteon) is not addictive, but like other sleep meds, you can develop tolerance, and the med will no longer work. So, maybe best you do use only occasionally. But do you have a sleep disorder such as sleep apnea, or periodic limb movements of sleep? Is your insomnia a medication rxtn, or perhaps a circadian rhythm disorder, or even a shift work issue? ?Do a sleep study?

Rozerem (ramelteon): Rozerem (ramelteon) is a melatonin agonist that enhances the effect of endogenous melatonin -- a pineal hormone that regulates sleep & wake cycles. It does not depress the cns, and has no anxiolytic or muscle relaxant properties or potential for tolerance or abuse. Its effect can eventually wear off, though. Also, persistent sleep problems need evaluation & diagnosis rather than medication alone.
