No: A nissen will make your symptoms worse. Any esophageal pathology will not be helped by fundoplication.

Unusual: Unusual for dilitations not to help. What would i do? Have a board certified gastroenterologist try again using a different method, and possibly inject the area with a steroid solution. A nissen may help if recurrence due to cuncontrolled reflux.

Today I had an upper endoscopy. Diagnosed with hiatal hernia, esophagus stricture (they dilated it), and did biopsies on area that looked different. I have gerd. What should I look out for after the dilation, and for how long? Forgot to ask the docto
If hiatal hernia is causing gerd, why can't surgeon just repair hernia hole instead of doing that and a fundoplication?
