During cpr which is done first? check the airway or give the chest compression?

Assess Airway: The initial steps of CPR are as follows: assess for adequate airway (no obstruction), evaluate for spontaneous respiration or breathing, and then provide chest compressions for circulation. However newer guidelines (2010) do stress the need for more rapid and effective chest compressions with less emphasis on rescue breaths. Aeds also play a very important role in resuscitative care as well.
