Not a fever: I would recommend following him closely. 100.4 rectally is a fever in his age group. I would not worry about that. Lots of things can cause fussiness. Watch his feeding, voiding and stooling carefully. Monitor him for viral symptoms like runny nose or cough. If his fussiness worsens or persists i would recommend an appt.
