Speak to your MD: There are lots of reasons why babies cry, but it is concerning if you cannot get your baby to stop crying after 30 minutes. Babies that are inconsolable can have something that needs urgent medical attention, and the best advice for these situations is to call your pediatrician immediately for advice and further management.

Check this list...: If the scream is more than the usual cry of hunger, gas or being wet, look for other more serious signs of illness. Check for fever (rule out infection), any severe rash/hives, a "hair tourniquet"- check the fingers/toes to be sure there is no hair tangled around them (sounds strange but it happens!), check the eyes to be sure baby is not having signs of a corneal abrasion.
