Need allergy test: The lymphocyte count and neutrophil count as obtained on the CBC (complete blood count) are not sufficient to identify dust mite allergy. These numbers would be better to assess for infection and general immune status. For dust mite allergy, a blood test or a skin test would be the preferred test. Also, a review of symptoms to assess if suspicious for dust mite allergy is needed.
