Constipation: Increase fiber intake; increase water ( not juice) intake, instead of fruit juice, stress on eats fruits, give her cereal with every meal, and MiraLAX (polyethylene glycol) powder ( otc) helps too.

Maybe miralax (polyethylene glycol): Since your child has had the study already, the results should be in soon. In general, however, MiraLAX (polyethylene glycol) works well. It's a powder mixed with 8 oz. Of any fluid you'd like. Cut down on the milk and dairy products; they can be constipating, are poor sources of iron and slow down the time it would take for food to leave the stomach thereby making your child feel full and not eat as much.

Barium Constipation: Barium used for the test probably caused the constipation. Miralax (polyethylene glycol) over the counter could help but doesn't begin to effectively work for 2-3 days. Increase water intake to 6-8 glasses/day. Prunes & prune juice also of benefit. A stool softener to add moisture to the stool in pediatric dose(read labels carefully) should get things moving again.
