A member asked:

A dentist injected local anaesthesia twice by mistake. will there be any problem ?

No: I am a pediatric dentist by specialty. Two injections should not be a toxic level. Sometimes with nerve anomalies, it may take more than one injection to "numb" the area.

You should be OK.: Perhaps the most serious concern with local anesthetics is an adverse reaction caused by a high blood level of the drug. This happens when too much is administered too fast - faster than the body can break it down. This is called acute toxicity and can be very dangerous. If you are asking this question after your office visit, any danger that may have existed should have long passed.

Anesthesia: Most likely not. They probably did not get it close to the nerve the first time and needed to repeat it. As long as ur feeling comes back all is well.

Probably Not: The doses of local anesthetic that are used in the mouth are very small for a full grown human. The medications are also fairly rapidly broken down and removed from your body. If you have any concerns i would talk to your dentist.
