Don't use creams!: I'm not a fan at all of creams for cold sores..Which is herpes by the way. My favorite treatment is Valtrex (valacyclovir) (a type of acyclovir). 2000mg twice a day for just one day will make it go away. Don't wast your money on the topical garbage.
