A member asked:

Can i inject benadryl (diphenhydramine) into bug bites? i mean, when they get really itchy, sometimes putting it on the skin doesn't help enough.

No, not for problem: Injection of Benadryl (diphenhydramine) is used only for general reactions, not for local reactions such as insect bites. If you develop an anaphylaxis to wasp, honey-bees, or fire-ants, with history of previous systemic reactions affecting the whole body, then it will be indicated. Insect repellents are the best way to go. For local reactions, cortisone creams have helped many patients.
