Yes.: Coronary heart disease can be serious. However, with modern understanding it can be managed. Drugs like Aspirin can reduce heart attack. Additionally drugs like Plavix (clopidogrel) have been shown to decrease this further. Statin medications can reduce risk for rupture of the plaque which is the precursor step for a sudden heart attack. Additional medications are also helpful in reducing the impact of cad.
