Unclear: There is no definitive answer, as there are very many mitigating factors. In and of itself, it is possible to recover from a coma. Recovery mostly depends on what caused the coma and if damage (if any detectable damage) is reversible. Speak honestly and openly with your medical team, they should do the same in answering your questions.

Coma: Being unconscious or in coma has many causes. The outcome will depend on what made the person go into coma. Some causes of coma are reversible, which means that once the person is treated properly she/he may improve. However, if there was lack of oxygen or blood flow to the brain for 3 days then recovery is unlikely.
