Oral hygiene: Halitosis or bad breath can have a multitude of causes: food and plaque stuck on or between teeth, decaying teeth, gum disease (gingivitis) or advanced gum disease (periodontitis), and a dirty tongue. Start at home with impeccable oral hygiene including brushing thoroughly 2-3 times per day, flossing daily, brushing or scraping the tongue, and using listerine rinse. Also see the dentist.

Home care: Improve your oral hygiene with proper brushing and flossing. Consider "tongue scrapping". Make dietary choices that will not cause bad breath, like garlic, onions, etc. Make sure that you have periodic oral cleanings and exams by a dental professional.

Depends upon cause: The most important issue is to determine the cause of the halitosis. Then you can know how to treat\eliminate it. You may or may not be able to determine that on your own. See this link for possible causes: http://smilesapartcosmeticdentist.Com/fresh-breath-control.Htm poor oral hygiene is the most common cause. See a dentist or physician to help in the diagnosis & treatment.
