It depends.: Most ventricular premature beats (vpbs) do not require treatment. Runs of vpbs such as ventricular tachycardia are potentially serious and may require medications or ablation or an implanted defibrillator. A careful evaluation is essential in order to know what if any treatment is appropriate.
