Folliculitis?: Infection of the hair follicles commonly occurs on the trunk and is usually caused by staph bacteria. In widespread cases, usually oral antibiotics are prescribed to kill the bacteria. Other infections and inflammatory conditions can look similar, however, so your dermatologist can culture the spots and help get you cleared up asap.
