Ganglion: Ganglion cysts are collections of joint fluid encased in a sac outside the joint. There is a small opening in the capsule of the joint where the fluid leaks out. They are usually harmless, and painless, but can occasionally get uncomfortable. They can sometimes regress spontaneosly, but if persistent, can be drained or removed surgically.
