Dr. William Hammond

Range of normals: Platelet volume reference range is the range in size of platelets in a normal population of people. A "reference range" is also called the "range of normal" or "normal limits", indicating that if you are in that "range, " you are presumed also to be normal. Certain diseases are associated with large platelets (itp, or myeloproliferative disorders), and some with small platelets (iron deficiency).
