Back pain left side: Need musculoskeletal exam. Two major structures that commonly cause this-1) iliolumbar ligament or 2)attachment of major extensor muscle ( quadratus lumborum) at sacrum ( enthesiopathies)3) myotonic point in overused muscle. Usually localized. May respond massage, manipulation or needling. Common cause is rotating lower back during lift or abnormal position while working. Physical therapists.
