My 7 month is in the hosp for cough / poss pneumonia her oxygen has been 89 90 is this ok and why?

No: The reason they're keeping him/her in the hospital is that a baby's oxygen saturation should be above 97% so they're probably giving him/her extra oxygen. As the pneumonia or respiratory process gets better, that should improve.
