Wellbutrin (bupropion): Wellbutrin (bupropion) can be a helpful antidepressant, but it doesn't do much for anxiety. In some people it can make anxiety worse (so can vyvanse). Depending on your history (no seizure or eating d/o's), wellbutrin (bupropion) might safely be added to ssri's for other reasons -- but i'm wondering if an overall case review is not in order. If your md is not a psychiatrist, you might consider consulting with one.

Re-evaluate Vyvanse (lisdexamfetamine): I'm wondering if the vyvanse (lisdexamfetamine) itself is causing you some anxiety. Perhaps adjusting its dose or trying another psychostimulant will help with the anxiety. I would also like to encourage you to consider supplementing with inositol, gaba, holy basil, or magnesium (peter gillham's natural vitality calm -- a "bioavailable" form of magnesium). Also aerobic exercise to energize and ease the anxiety.

Safety vs. efficacy: Pharmacologically it can be safe. But wellbutrin (bupropion) is not ideal for anxiety. You and your doctor may consider other options, like lowering vyvanse or increasing zoloft. You might consider answering questions like has the anxiety increased with vyvanse or it has always been there? What are other possible causes for this anxiety looking back historically?

The combo is safe: But the dose of wellbutrin (bupropion) should be on the low side because of the way the drugs are metabolized in the liver. Wellbutrin (bupropion) generally does not help anxiety unless it is specifically due to the depression. Wellbutrin (bupropion) is a good antidepressant in narcolepsy. If your psychiatrist tells you that he is treating generalized anxiety, i would opt first for Buspirone which works well in this condition.
