My brother is in the hospital with a bad liver and kidney problems. what does a creatin level of 5.2 mean?

Poor renal function: It means his kidneys are not functioning well. One would have to know his previous numbers, his urine output and some other numbers before one can decide whether this number means his kidneys have totally shut down or not; a single number is not enough.
