A member asked:

Muscley, painless, lump on edge of ribs. about two inches right of sternum. appeared after whooping cough. x-rays were negative. size fluctuates.?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Probably nothing but: The normal x-ray just means that it does't have calcification, not that it isn't there. The fact that it fluctuates in size is intriguing. You'll have to go into more detail to explain what maneuver makes it larger or smaller. No diagnosis seems reasonable at the moment.
