Autoinmmune disease: Acute glomerular nephritis (agn) is the consequence of an autoimmune reaction against the kidney triggered by antibodies to streptococcus pyogenes, the infecting agent of "strep throat." pushing fluids will help your body recover more easily from the acute infection, but will not prevent the agn. Using proper antibiotics for an appropriate period of time will prevent most cases of agn.

Fluids: There are many factors which can contribute to kidney problems. Lack of fluids (dehydration) is just one of them. Good hydration promotes metabolism and help your body to perform multiple functions. Use common sense when drinking fluids.
