For depression/sleep: Doxepin (brand name sinequan) is an older prescription antidepressant (a "tricyclic" available generically) that is mostly used nowadays as a sleep aid. It also has anxiety-relieving effects. Common side effects include dry mouth, blurred vision, and constipation, but unlike many other prescription sleep aids, it is non-addictive.

Silenor: Additionally, low dose Doxepin (3 or 6 mg tablets) has recently been marketed as the brand name silenor for the treatment of insomnia. Silenor is signficantly more expensive than a half tablet of the lowest available strength (10 mg) generic Doxepin tablet. Like the generic version, silenor is non-habit forming.
