Donepezil is used to treat dementia (a brain disorder that affects the ability to remember, think clearly, communicate, and perform daily activities.

Alzheimer's Med: Donepezil is a medication indicated for the treatment of alzheimer's disease that increases acetyl choline (a chemical involved in memory). While it does not cure the disease, it has potential for preserving the quality of life of a sufferer when compared to not treating. For instance, it has been showed to delay the time to nursing home admission.
