Conjunctivitis : Generally lubricants are useful to coat the ocular surface to help with healing and to ease discomfort. It sounds like you may have has a bacterial infection because of vigamox use. Now if not much improvement with vigamox, you may have has a viral infection in which case lubricants, ocular decongestants, and time will often be all that is necessary. If your condition worsens contact md.

Treat the symptoms: Most cases of conjunctivitis do not need antibiotic treatment. So treatment of the symptoms with artificial tears or allergy drops is often all that is needed until the body gets rid of the infection.
