Likely a mucocoel: The glands that create our mouth mucous are located in the inner linings of the mouth. It is likely any cystic structure you see is one that may be enlarged because its draining pathway was broken up by the mechanical action within the mouth. If it seems uncomfortable, let your kids doc evaluate it & decide if a visit with an ENT is warranted. These can need opening & drainage.

Plugged: Sounds like a plugged saliva gland or minor gland duct. Usually resolves by itself, if not see your dentist.
