Oral allergy syndrom: The oral allergy syndrome, also called the food-pollen allergy syndrome happens when an individual who is allergic to pollen eats a food that is botanically related to the pollen. Birch tree pollen allergy sufferers tend to react to tree fruit like peaches, plums and nectarines. Treatment is to avoid the foods or to cook them well. Allergy shots to the pollen reduces the oral symptoms.
