The side of my left foot has been sore, and having sharp pains in it, didn't twist it or anything?

Hard to say: There are many causes of pain in the foot without any apparent trauma. Gout comes to mind, but without knowing more about your health history and getting a look at your tootsie, i'd be misleading you with any specific answers. It's always safest and best to bring it in to a podiatrist, perhaps get an x-ray, and know for certain. Feel better and good luck!

Which side?: By the toes? Midfoot? Heel? Ankle? What time of day? In shoes? Out of shoes? During rest? While walking? You need to provide some more info for a better answer.
