Is it common to have numbness of the leg and vaginal area after pudendal nerve block? 24 hours later, only local anesthesia was used

Some times possible: Even with long acting bupivacaine local anesthesia will lost for few hrs rarely possible to lost that long. Newer sodium chanel blocker drugs like neosaxitoxin is used will lost ( effective ) for 24 hrs . If sensations will not return by next day or so please see your doctor.

Local: Not common but possible especially if the pudendal nerve was entered w da needle.

Possibly: Local anesthetic removal can be extremely varied in some patients. There is also the possibility that this was due to a stretching of one of the nerves in the area during the procedure. If this persists get in contact with your physician and discuss the condition with them.

Yes: Depends on what local was used. Some last longer than others. Also the fluid injected can place pressure on the nerve which can immediately worsen symptoms or add to numbness. However, let your physcian know about these symptoms
