Blood clot in the br: The brain, being supplied by a by a network of arteries is susceptible to bood clots just like every other organ in the body...The severity of the problem is related to the vessel iteslf and the area it supplies...As importantly, the duration of the episode , if less than 24 hours or greater determines treatment...Less than 24 hours of symptoms is classified as a TIA (transient ischaemic attack).

A stroke: Dr. Bein provided a very nice answer but another word for cerebral thrombosis would be a stroke.
