Enlarged lower leg: I assume we are talking about a baby cow... The area of which you are referring to, are the 2 muscles that make up the posterior of the lower leg. The larger gastocnemious muscle and the smaller soleus muscle together are referred to as the calf muscle. Swelling could be due to trauma or any number of origins. They attach to the achilles heel tendon.
