Not inside mouth: A "large" tongue is one that cannot be easily kepp inside the mouth with lips closed. It is important to differentitate between a tongue that is truly large and one that protrudes form the mouth because of poor muscle control. A true large tongue is often associated with tooth and jaw deformity. Tongues may be large due to tumors, vascular malformations, overgrowth syndromes or storage diseases.

"Large Tongue": There is no deffinitive "definition". If the enlargement is recent, it could be an infection or a mass. See an ENT doc for an evaluation.
