What is the definition or description of: tongue biopsy?

Tissue sample.: Sometimes we need to know what exactly is growing on the tongue. There may be a lump, or a discolored spot, etc.. The best way to find out is to remove all or part of it and look at the cells under a microscope. This is called a biopsy.
